In a significant update to the AWS ecosystem, AWS Marketplace has announced an expansion of its SaaS product policy that will take effect on May 1, 2025. This modification will allow all SaaS products, regardless of where they are deployed, to be listed on the AWS Marketplace. Previously, only products that were at least partially deployed on the AWS infrastructure were accepted.

This expansion responds to requests from both customers and AWS partners who were looking for a more complete purchasing experience. For customers, this means access to a wider range of products with the convenience of consolidated billing and simplified management. On the other hand, partners will be able to list their entire software portfolios on the AWS Marketplace, optimizing their marketing strategy and reaching more AWS customers.

In addition, to maintain transparency and highlight products that operate directly on AWS infrastructure, a new “Deployed on AWS” badge will be introduced on product detail pages. This label will allow customers to easily identify products running on AWS, which can offer advantages in terms of rapid deployment, security, and operational efficiency.

This initiative reflects AWS's commitment to adapt to the changing needs of its community and to providing solutions that facilitate both customers and partners on their path to innovation and growth in the cloud.
